The Nautical Nest is a 3 storey Edwardian property in the heart of stunning Dartmouth. This fantastic holiday home has three large bedrooms, 2 with ensuites, and a spacious open plan living area. An added bonus is a Parking Permit for one car. Everything you need for your holiday is on your doorstep, with cafes, restaurants, pubs, shops, the riverfront, riverboats and great scenery a short stroll away. Jump in your car and beaches and gorgeous walks are easily reached. Come and stay!

The space

The Nautical Nest is a typical Edwardian property with period features and large rooms. The entrance is off the main street and the ground floor is a useful space for storing shoes, coats and beach equipment.

Up the stairs and guests are taken to the spacious open plan living area comprising a small but well equipped kitchen, a large dining area, sumptuous lounge with large TV and a small outside space perfect for al fresco dining or that cheeky glass of wine (or two!).

On the second floor guests will find two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite. Cabin 1 has a double bed. Cabin 2 has a double bed and single bed plus said en suite with a P shaped bath and over bath shower. There is a separate toilet on this floor. Guests using Cabin 1 have to use one of the en suites to shower / bathe.

On the top floor is a large king-sized bedroom complete with shower room and plenty of storage. A travel cot (available) can be placed in all bedrooms according to guest need. Guests will need to provide their own cot bedding.

Please note that The Nautical Nest is above the highly popular and well renowned restaurant 'Andria' that offers European Cuisine. Andria is well worth visiting as the food is stunning. Booking advised.

The neighbourhood

If you love Dartmouth and it's buzz then you will love The Nautical Nest. Its central position and ample space are its selling points and we have tried to equip the property with everything guests should need for the perfect South Hams stay.

House rules

Not a rule as such, but rather Legislation.
To comply with the Immigration (Hotel Records) Order 1972, all guests over the age of 16 need to provide us with their full name and Nationality.
Any guest staying that is not a British National, not Irish or not from the Commonwealth must provide us with their Passport Number and Nationality, place of issue and their onwards destination.
Please feel free to ask us for clarification of the Legislation.

We ask that guests treat The Nautical Nest with kindness and respect and leave it clean and tidy.

Check in (4pm) and check out (10am) times are unfortunately not flexible due to the amount of cleaning required to meet our very high standards for cleanliness and hygiene. Saying that, it is always worth asking if an early check in or late check out is possible, particularly out of season.

Please do not leave washing up for the cleaners to do. Unexpected and unreasonable cleaning will be charged to guests upon departure at a cost of £20 per hour. Please ensure all washed up items are washed up properly and put away totally dry.

Please let us know if you break anything or if something in the property does not work. We cannot fix things if we do not know about them.

Regretfully dogs and other pets are not allowed in the property. Emotional support pets are not permitted and if you have an assistance dog, the property may not be suitable for you. Please ask.

Please no candles or naked flames either inside or outside and no smoking or vaping are permitted at all.

Please turn off all lights and close all windows when checking out.

Please do not leave any gas burners, the oven or the toaster unattended at any time.

Guest access

Access into The Nautical Nest is from the main street. There is a keysafe to the left of the front door, the code of which will be provided 24 hours before each stay.

Guests can unload cars from outside. They then need to use the Parking Permit provided to park in nearby Mayor's Avenue car park.

Between 1st October and 30th April, on street parking in Dartmouth is not restricted.

From 1st May until 30th September, the Parking Permit is pretty much a necessity. We ask guests to look after the Permit as it costs a small fortune to replace.

There are 3 staircases within the property and one outside decked space. Due to the number of stairs, the property may not be suitable for those with mobility issues / young children.

Only 4 guests at a time can use the outside space. Please do not walk on the artificial grass.

Stairgates are not provided. Please do not fit your own.

Interaction with guests

The Nautical Nest is our Holiday Let and we visit it frequently as we love Dartmouth and have strong family links to the area.

When guests stay, we are not on site but we are easily contactable by phone and happy to answer questions or sort out any issues.

We do message guests upon arrival to check all is well and we repeat the process upon departure. It is important to us that guests have a lovely stay and feel able to contact us.

Other things to note

This is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom property with a separate loo.

There is wifi throughout the property.

There is a Smart TV in the living area complete with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ and all the usual Freesat channels.

There are Smart TVs in all the bedrooms.

There is a washing machine and microwave but no tumble dryer or dishwasher.

Bedlinen and towels are provided. Beach towels are not and we do ask that our towels are not removed from the property.

All utilities are included in the fee.

There is a freezer, airer and ironing board in the cupboard on the ground floor.

With regret pets are not permitted, non shedding, quiet, well behaved or otherwise. The property is just not suitable for pets.

No smoking, candles or naked flames are allowed.

The fireplaces in the dining area and lounge are non-functional.

The outside space is fully enclosed and gets the sun in the morning.

We do ask that guests treat the property with kindness and respect and let us know if there are any problems.
